With the recent release of the study that found "car steering wheels carry more than twice as many germs as a toilet seat," I feel compelled to share my thoughts.
Helloooo!...
When in the world is everyone going to figure it out?... Toilet seats just aren't that dirty!
Yeah, there's the stink-factor. And the splish-splash that sometimes goes along with it. But when was the last time your butt was actually "dirty"?
I'm talking the outside part... the big cheeky part... the part that actually touches the toilet seat. When you think about it, that's probably one of the cleanest parts ON our bodies!
Mostly because that area rarely sees the light of day. And, therefore, it has very few occasions on which to pick up dirt and grime and bacteria.
So why do you suppose we are so inclined to continue thinking that a toilet seat is obviously "dirty"?
"Surprisingly, toilet seats consistently had the lowest bacteria levels of the 12 surfaces tested." Source
Still don't believe me?...
In our never ending quest to find "the perfect property" on which to build a new house, we have been traipsing in... through... up... and over... tall, thick brush filled with ticks!
Here's what I've learned about the dangers of ticks (like not all ticks carry the dreaded lyme disease), and the best tip of all: The easiest way to remove ticks!
This one's a little far-fetched... but I can visualize a fairly unique personal memento in the end...
I've saved this information from forwarded e-mails I received through the years. While it's not "fun" per se, it sure will enable you to have more fun if you're able to spot the signs of a heart attack or stroke with someone you love.
Consider this my one-person mission to get the entire world to yawn (...or at least all 10,000 or so of you reading this website right now!)
Go ahead...
Try & fight it.
But before you finish this article you'll yawn.
Guaranteed.
Got T-Shirts?
If you're like us, you've got tons of old Tshirts lying around the house.
Most of them probably date back to your high school years... or other events, activities, or vacations that you've enjoyed.
For some reason, we just can't bring ourselves to toss (or donate) all of those old T-shirts -- even though we hardly ever wear them anymore.
Some (like those from concerts & sporting events) have never even been worn at all. We've simply been holding onto them purely as mementos, or souvenirs.
Take note!... Now there's a company that will turn all of your precious old T-shirts into a one-of-a-kind custom quilt or duvet cover.
In our search for the perfect piece of property to build our next home on, we've been spending a good deal of time in the woods -- traipsing through thick brush and weeds.
This means... we've seen a good deal of ticks, received more than our share of chigger bites, and walked through far too many thick spider webs -- with the spiders still in them! (It seems like all the spiders in the forest build their webs between dangling tree limbs -- right about at shoulder level.)
Unfortunately, this has resulted in numerous bug bites on our arms and legs, ticks that have managed to work their way up and under our clothes, and even a fairly serious spider bite where Jim's entire right arm got tight (the muscle was constricted) and he ran a high fever.
