I like seeing unbiased reviews regarding peoples’ favorite household cleaning products.
Honest feedback from those whose opinions truly matter is hard to come by.
That’s why I’m grateful to House Beautiful for posting these interviews with 14 top designers. In addition to their favorite design styles and products, there is also valuable information about their favorite household cleaners.
One thing’s for sure: an interior designer needs to make a great first impression. And high-end designers (like the 14 featured here) have access to some of the best products around. To see which household cleaners they personally choose to get the job done is quite interesting to me.

The most interesting things that I noticed from these interviews…
1. Most of these designers prefer really unique soaps; most of which I’ve never heard of (besides Ivory and Dove, of course). My favorite bar soap is Dove Regenerating Calming Night Bar.
2. Miele and Electrolux appear to be the most popular vacuum cleaners. And canisters no less! I’ve used an Oreck for nearly 20 years, and I’ve been very happy with it. But a friend who cleans houses for a living agrees that Miele is the best.
3. Mrs. Meyers was the common denominator when it comes to these interior designers’ favorite cleaning product. I’ve been meaning to try it out, and now I’m more convinced than ever that it’s definitely worth a look. I’m glad at least one person gave a shout out to the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Those things really do work miracles!
