Getting To Know Our ThermoSpas Hot Tub: From Delivery To Daily Spa Therapy

| Comments (0)

Earlier, I told you how we decided on ThermoSpas for our very first hot tub.

Now, I'll share a little bit of inside scoop about the ThermoSpa hot tub delivery process. It wasn't exactly as we thought it would be. That doesn't mean it was a 'bad' experience -- just different than we initially thought.

The good news is, we're thrilled with our ThermoSpa hot tub and we've used it every day since we got it (...except for a few days when we were out of town).

This is what our backyard looked like -- before the ThermoSpas hot tub... and after.

We Got A ThermoSpas Hot Tub... Our First Hot Tub Ever!

| Comments (1)

thermospa-hot-tub-concord-blue.jpgJim and I always want to call it "ThermaSpa"(with an "a"), but technically the company name is ThermoSpas (with an "o" and usually plural). Confusing name, but their hot tubs are a supurb quality and we couldn't be happier that we are the proud new owners of a ThermoSpa hot tub.

I just thought I'd share a little about how we were introduced to ThermoSpas and why we think they make some of the best hot tubs around.

I'm Not Really The Hot Tub Type

By the way, I never thought I would be the owner of a hot tub. It's just not anything I've ever been interested in. I mean... we've had a swimming pool before (at a house we rented in Florida), so I know how we actually ended up using it much less than we initially thought we would.  And I've always put hot tubs in that same category as swimming pools, trampolines, jungle gyms, and weight machines -- expensive things you always think you'll use a lot. But in the end, you don't.

That said (and much to my surprise), I'm actually extremely glad that we got a hot tub! Jim is, too. But I don't think we would be as happy with just any hot tub. We like our ThermoSpas hot tub for several very specific reasons. (For what it's worth... ThermoSpa says that their demographic is 35 to 64, with most being in their mid to late 40s. Yep, that's us!)

swimming-pool-photo-by-cadmanof50s.jpgSteve Bister works at Crystal Waters Pool & Spa. He is a fan of salt water systems in swimming pools.

After reading an article I wrote about salt water pool systems vs chlorine pool systems, Steve sent us some more info about salt water pools. He has graciously given us permission to share that info with everyone here at The Fun Times Guide.

If you have any questions about salt water pool systems, chances are they're answered below...

Grillstone: A One-of-a-Kind Grill Cleaner

What do you use to clean your grill each time?

Instead of using those wire brushes which wear down so quickly after scrubbing the grates of your grill just a few times, consider this:

The Grillstone makes your grill shiny and looking like new again!

Salt Water Systems vs Chlorine In Swimming Pools

Florida swimming pool with palm tree in the backyard. We don't have a pool, but we DID!
Er, well we actually rented a house in Pensacola, Florida for a year that did.

It was a full-size in-the-ground swimming pool -- with a diving board, a deep end, and everything! We were so thrilled.

Empty swimming pool under repairs - needs a new liner. That is, until the liner along the inside of the pool started sagging, and the cleaners and filters quit working altogether.

Example of the green slimy algae that overtook our beautiful swimming pool.

The result: A limy green moss-filled swimming pool.
...This stuff practically grew overNIGHT!

  • Okay, so I never realized until I snapped this photo just HOW many shirts we have... on hangers! You can actually see where Jim's side of the closet is separated from mine -- by the type of hangers used.
  • A few different types of plastic hangers. Some have hooks near the shoulders, some don't. Jim prefers the ones that don't.
