Vitamin schmitamin...
It's so confusing. How much? Which ones? And why?
Jim and I are beginning to feel the effects of 40-something coming down on us. So I figured, one of the better things we could do for our bodies (aside from exercise and diet, of course) is to get healthy from the inside out.
I researched a few vitamin suggestions from 'the experts' and here's what I've learned...
Alright... this time I mean it! My chiropractor has been "nagging" me to do more walking... Now, I just might.
It's been "proven" that dog walking is more effective than dieting.
I LOVE that!
This is a recent (October 4, 2005) study, so it's intriguing to think that they just might be onto something in this day & age.
Steve Vaught is a 39-year-old man from Youngstown, Ohio who now resides in Southern California. Well, actually for the next several months he'll be residing in a variety of states: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.
What's the deal?...
Steve has a weight problem, and he's set out to tackle the issue himself. His plan: To WALK from San Diego, California to New York City in 6 months!
He started April 10, 2005, and as of today, he's in Winslow, Arizona. That means he's only passed through one-and-a-half of the NINE states he ultimately hopes to traverse... and only 3 more months left to go.
Perhaps his goal will be readjusted. Perhaps this will become a bigger goal and lifestyle change than Steve could even have imagined... Who knows?
Stay tuned to see where Steve's walk takes him, and where this battle to fight the bulge ends up.
Okay, so I've been trying to incorporate some Yoga fitness routines into my daily life -- in lieu of watching television these past 2 weeks.
How've I done?...
Pretty good!
But I truly believe that YOGA stands for "You Only Get Achy".
On a whim, Jim and I both had our blood sugar levels tested recently. Actually, Jim's mom (who's diabetic) was testing her own levels at home over the holidays, and we asked if we could use her handy-dandy little contraption to test our levels too.
Jim's dad (a.k.a. the caretaker of the family and the keeper of all the cool medical testing gadgets!) eagerly set up the little hand-held machine for our individual tests.
