#1 Move anything you don't intend to sell.
First and foremost, anything you do not want to sell should be moved as far away from the yard sale area as possible. Or, covered those items with blankets and tarps.
I can't tell you how many times people have wanted to buy items that were simply being stored in our garage. Here are just a few of the strange things that people have wanted to buy at my yard sales:
"I see a garden hose over there in the corner, are you selling that?"
"Is that bike for sale?"
"The footstool that you're using for to display items... is that for sale, too?"
"What about the magazine racks that are holding all those magazines... are you selling those?"
Have you ever used a Little Giant ladder before?
We did once.
We borrowed a friend's Little Giant in order to do our exterior Spring cleaning around the house last year.
I've gotta say... it was the best thing we ever did in terms of getting the outside of our house up to par for the summer.
Masking tape... "although it isn't as popular as duct tape, most homes have at least one or two rolls around the house." Source
Painter's tape... "has light, or weak, adhesive. The paper backing of the tape is easy to tear." Source
In my opinion, blue painter's tape is utterly indespensible around the house! It's great because painter's tape sticks to the surface, but leaves no sticky residue when it is removed.
Alright, here we go...
Ten unique uses for blue painter's tape! (...or any other color you might happen to have on hand)
