This is all you need to repair a leaking toilet... if the leak is due to a bad seal on the flapper.
Ours was.
You'll recall that we had 2 toilets that were leaking profusely, even though we thought they were only small leaks at first. To give you some idea... our monthly water bill nearly quadrupled during this time!
Here's how we fixed our leaky toilets...
Looks like we're having minor toilet troubles... again!
Our house (and everything in it) is only 5 years old. We have 3 toilets, and I've already been through the "changing of the toilet seat" routine with them all.
Now, 2 of them have been constantly dripping water in the toilet tank.
Here's what I've learned...
My recent purchase of 3 new toilet seats for our 3 old toilets has led me to now seek out "the perfect" toilet cleaning products. I'd like to keep these sparkling white toilet seating looking fresh & new for longer than 5-1/2 years this time!
I've found a few interesting things (and one really cool thing!)... but others' opinions on this topic would also be welcomed.
Who knew I could spend nearly an hour in the Home Depot just examining toilet seats?!
Better yet, who knew I could write a 500-word article detailing the intricacies of toilet seats???
Hold onto your fuzzy toilet seat cover, people... here we go!
I was watching HGTV the other day... probably an episode of "I Want That" or something similar. And I remembered seeing an interesting new product called the Purse Pal.
What's cool about it is the fact that not only does it give you a place to put your purse -- so it's always within your sight and up off the floor -- it also gives you a place to put your other things like your hat, your scarf, your gloves, and your shopping bags when you're out & about.
Plus, it's small and compact, so it's easy to tote along whenever you're out shopping or traveling.
That one product intrigued me enough to want to check out HGTV's database of unusual products & ideas.
I found some even better one-of-a-kind items!...
With the recent release of the study that found "car steering wheels carry more than twice as many germs as a toilet seat," I feel compelled to share my thoughts.
Helloooo!...
When in the world is everyone going to figure it out?... Toilet seats just aren't that dirty!
Yeah, there's the stink-factor. And the splish-splash that sometimes goes along with it. But when was the last time your butt was actually "dirty"?
I'm talking the outside part... the big cheeky part... the part that actually touches the toilet seat. When you think about it, that's probably one of the cleanest parts ON our bodies!
Mostly because that area rarely sees the light of day. And, therefore, it has very few occasions on which to pick up dirt and grime and bacteria.
So why do you suppose we are so inclined to continue thinking that a toilet seat is obviously "dirty"?
"Surprisingly, toilet seats consistently had the lowest bacteria levels of the 12 surfaces tested." Source
Still don't believe me?...
