cleaning-supplies-by-bies.jpg People usually want to clean their home in the shortest amount of time possible.

As a professional house cleaner, I’ve whittled my best speed cleaning tips down to 7.

Hopefully, these tips will help you get your cleaning chores done quickly, while still doing a good job.

The following speed cleaning tips address those simple things that are often overlooked when you’re in a hurry trying to clean your house in a rush.

#1 – Have a plan.

Set a a plan of action including exactly where you will start and what you want to accomplish on this particular day. This will help you save time, because you won’t forget things and have to backtrack. It may help to make a list, then check things off as you go.

#2 – Have all the necessary tools.

Gather all the tools and cleaning supplies that you’ll need. A couple of things that I suggest buying:

The more organized you are, the better. And remember to always put things back in their proper place when you’re finished using them. That way, everything will stay neat and tidy and you’ll know where to look when you need to use those things the next time.

#3 – Work from top to bottom.

Cleaning from the top to the bottom can be a great timesaver because if you’re cleaning a ceiling fan or cobwebs up in the corner, you won’t have to worry about knocking dust onto a freshly dusted table or vacuumed carpet.

#4 – Time yourself.

Putting a time limit on various house cleaning tasks is another way to save time when speed cleaning. That way, you won’t get caught up on one small job and spend too much time there, or get side-tracked altogether.

#5 – If it isn’t dirty, don’t clean it.

If something isn’t dirty then skip it this time. Don’t clean everything just because “it’s there”. This is a simple way to save time since you won’t be wasting time cleaning every single thing in your house, when some things are already clean (enough).

#6 – Mop floors by hand.

Mopping your floors by hand sounds hard, but actually it’s simple and fast. All you need is a small bucket with mop water and a rag. This method can save time because you can wipe the baseboards at the same time.

#7 – Pay attention to your surroundings.

By paying attention to your surroundings while you’re cleaning, you will be less likely to break things. You see, it’s far too easy while you’re vacuuming to back right into a table, or a lamp, or trip over something that’s on the floor.

BONUS TIP:  If you’re cleaning anywhere near a door… lock it! That way, no one can open the door and collide with you or your cleaning supplies.

Hopefully these speed cleaning tips will help you get through your cleaning chores more quickly so you will have more time to do things besides cleaning.
