Free Candle Burning Tips

Did you know?...

Recommended burning time is one hour per inch diameter of the candle.

If you hold your finger in front of the flame as you blow the candle out. The air will flow around your finger and extinguish the candle from both sides. (This will also prevent any hot wax from splattering.)

If you have a candle that no longer has a wick, place it on a heat-safe base and set it on the back of your stove. Then, whenever you bake or cook, the heat from the oven will warm the candle -- releasing a gentle, soothing aroma from the candle.

You should always trim the wick to 1/4-inch before lighting any candle.

Every time you blow out a candle, you should immediately "re-center the wick". Then, your candle will last longer. (This is very easy to do when the wax is still warm.)

Refrigerating candles before using them will help them to burn slowly and evenly. (Make sure that you wrap them in foil or plastic first, to prevent moisture from getting into the wick.)

Before you place a votive in a votive candle holder, put a few drops of water in first. This will make it easier to clean out after the votive has melted.
