I like to help people find unique ways to do things that will save time & money -- so I write about "outside the box" Household Tips and Life Hacks that most wouldn't think of. I'm super-organized. And I LOVE to clean! I even enjoy doing laundry (but not ironing). I’m also a lifelong dog owner -- so I often share my favorite tips for living with dogs inside your home (like smart home design choices and dog-friendly cleaning & decorating ideas). Career-wise, I've been sharing my best ideas with others by blogging full-time since 1998 (the same year that Google started... and before the days of Facebook and YouTube). Prior to that, I worked in Higher Ed over 10 years before switching gears to pursue activities that I'm truly passionate about instead. For example, I've worked at a vet, in a photo lab, and at a zoo -- to name a few. I enjoy the outdoors via bicycle, motorcycle, Jeep, or RV. When I’m not cleaning, organizing, decorating, or fixing something… you'll find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun & helpful websites). To date, I've personally written over 200 articles about cleaning, organization, DIY repairs, and household hacks on this site! A few have over 2M shares; many others have over 100K shares.

You've probably seen them hanging out in people's yards. Truthfully, I never understood the whole Bag-a-Bug concept... that is, until WE needed to use them! Here's why we swear by the bug bags...

Some of the reasons you might want to consider a saltwater sanitizing system for your swimming pool -- instead of using chlorine in your pool.

Freecycle is a great place to find free stuff AND give away free stuff! How to find a Freecycle group in your area + My tips for getting the most from Freecycle locally.

These screw-on lids fit on most any bottle (lotion, ketchup, shampoo, etc.) making it possible to store the bottle upside down and dispense the product a little at a time from the flip-up lid. It's great for products that don't come in their own upside down bottle with a flip-top lid.

All about my favorite house cleaning products: the Bissell Pro-heat steam cleaner, the Oreck vacuum cleaner, Tech stain remover, and Air Delights air deoderizers.

These small square plates have a handled that's molded out of the same thick glass that Corning uses in their best products. I'm not crazy about the thinner Corningware plates and dishes, but these Grab-It snack plates and bowls are great for microwaving leftovers and for parties.

This is NOT a brown recluse spider.

These spiders are a common sight around our Tennessee home -- both indoors and outside. At least it's not the poisonous Brown Recluse spider! As you can see from the photo and the description, it's just a common wood wolf spider.
